ShareFest Porter County

Red Cross Blood Drives will be at the following locations as part of ShareFest Porter County on October 10th, 2009 (Click locations for a map):

Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, 201 N. Washington Street

Willowcreek Middle School in Portage, 5962 Central Avenue

First United Methodist in Chesterton, 434 South Second Street

and Kouts High School, 302 East College Street.

All sites will operate from 9am-3pm on Sharefest Oct. 10th. Please pre-register for your city of choice by going on line at https://www.givelife.org/ Use the code word ”sf” while you register, or call 1-800-448-3543 to register or for more information.

Looking for a ShareFest shirt? A hat? A water bottle? Stickers? These items and more are now available for direct order through our web store. Items are available that feature either the general ShareFest sunburst logo, or the Porter County-specific logo seen on our 2009 fliers and posters, and all items ordered will be shipped directly to you! Share your spirit fo rcomunity and Christ-like service to others!

ShareFest is just one day a year… But you don’t have to wait until the next ShareFest to make a positive impact on someone’s life!

Neighborlinkpc.org is a new web service connecting volunteers with serving opportunities. When you register, you can list your specific skills, and as needs arise that can use those skills, it will let you know! How great is that?

The numbers are in from Gail at the Red Cross:

• 35 units donated in Kouts
• 39 units donated in Chesterton
• 64 units donated in Portage
• 109 units donated in Valparaiso

…for a grand total of 247 units of blood donated! Thanks to everyone who donated blood and to all who volunteered to make it happen!

A limited number of ShareFest 2007 and 2008 shirts are still available . The shirts from 2008 are a yellow-orange color, with the ShareFest logo on the front pocket emblem, and a listing of participating churches superimposed on a sunburst on the back. The shirts from 2007 are similar, only they are blue in color. Shirts are available for $5 each, but will not be available at ShareFest sites this year; special arrangements must be made with Mike Sutton if you are interested in purchasing shirts from previous years. If you might be interested in purchasing one of the shirts, please let us know!
